The Arkansas State Police is searching for two suspects involved in the shooting death of a Helena-West Helena teenager.
Police say that 17-year-old Martin Davis died from gunshot wounds Thursday night after 10:30 p.m. Police say there was a shooting at the intersection of Main and Alabama Street in downtown Marianna. Davis’ body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory where an autopsy will be performed and a manner and cause of death will be determined.
16-year-old Cameron Ryder was also wounded by the gunfire, and sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound, police say. Ryder was transported to a Memphis area hospital for treatment.
Special agents of the state police’s criminal investigation division are continuing their work in the investigation and are endeavoring to locate two suspects who were with Davis and Ryder, police say, outside a Marianna business shortly before the shooting.
Anyone with any information regarding the shooting should contact the Marianna Police Department at 870-295-2508 or call the Arkansas State Police at 501-618-8000.
