The Arkansas State Police say they are investigating the shooting death of a 68-year-old Desha County woman on April 13.
Investigators with the criminal investigation division say that Joan Lemonds was pronounced dead at her home at 1769 State Highway 277, west of Watson, shortly before 1:00 p.m. on April 13.
The shooting incident occurred inside the home and was preceded by what a neighbor described as an argument between Lemonds and a male suspect, according to the state police.
Law enforcement made an arrest of a man who has been held pending the filing of formal charges.
Special agents from the criminal investigation division are continuing their work and will present the Desha County prosecuting attorney with any information related to the case, including physical evidence recovered and witness statements.
