The Arkansas State Police is investigating the homicide of a Marianna man that occurred on the night of Dec. 24.
State Police say 24-year-old Vincent Smith was shot outside of a Marianna apartment complex at 365 California Street. According to police, Smith was able to drive a short distance to a local residence where family members were gathered at 416 ER Gains Street.
Marianna Police Department dispatched officers to the scene. The officers rendered aid, but Smith was later pronounced dead at 9:30 p.m.
According to police, a capital murder warrant has been issued for the arrest of 19-year-old Jalen Epps. Police suspect Epps was the gunman who shot Smith during what police are calling “an apparent robbery.”
