
The Arkansas State Police is investigating a double homicide that occurred in Scott County.
According to police, 81-year-old Bobby Slagle and his wife, Martha, 69, were found dead at their residence at 4642 Highway 270 near Boles, south of Waldron.
According to police, the Scott County Sheriff’s Department received a phone call at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Monday from an individual at the Slagle’s residence. The individual said he needed assistance as he cut his foot, police say. The Slagle’s bodies were discovered in a bedroom at the residence, according to police. 35-year-old Dustin Wayne Shores was found inside the residence and was arrested. Shores is currently being held at the Scott County Detention Center awaiting the filing of formal criminal charges.
The state police’s criminal investigation division was requested by the Scott County Sheriff’s Department to conduct the homicide investigation.
