Man arrested on capital murder charge for September I-530 shooting in Little Rock

The Arkansas State Police has arrested a 20-year-old Pine Bluff man and charged him with capital murder in connection with a shooting homicide and attempted murder of three other individuals.

Anthony Madison appeared in court in Saline County on Monday and is currently being held in the Saline County Detention Center without bond.  Madison is charged with capital murder and three counts of attempted capital murder.

The shooting incident occurred along Interstate 530 south of Little Rock and north of Woodson Lateral Road shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Sept. 3, 2020.

El Dorado

19-year-old Devonta Miller died after being struck by gunfire that came from inside a car that had pulled up alongside the Dodge Charger Miller was riding in as a passenger in the front seat. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another 19-year-old man, Deddrick Childs, who was driving the vehicle and carrying two other passengers along with Miller, was also struck by gunfire and transported to a nearby Little Rock hospital.

The two passengers, 18-year-old Derek Parks and 19-year-old Austin Hunger, were in the rear seats of the Charger and were also wounded and had to be transported to a local hospital.

All of the victims are Little Rock residents.
