Knights’ offense piles up yardage in routing Fouke, 52-14

FOUKE, Ar. — Class 3A’s sixth-ranked Centerpoint piled up 553 total yards Friday night and had the clock running non-stop with 9:35 left in the third quarter en route to a 52-14 win over Fouke.

The unbeaten Knights (4-0) scored 72 seconds into the game on a 28-yard run by Dillon Fox. Five minutes later C.J. Fox caught a 34-yard TD pass from senior quarterback Josh Lawson. Tight end Hayden Rogers hauled in an 11-yard scoring pass to make it 21-0 going into the second quarter.

Kaden Owens caught a 47-yard TD pass from Lawson that made it 28-0 with 11:49 left in the first half.

Fouke trailed 38-6 at halftime

Fouke got on the scoreboard on a touchdown pass, which was quickly answered by a 29-yard field goal by Rogers. Coach Cary Rogers’ son then caught a 45-yard scoring strike from Lawson to make it 38-6 at intermission.

Dillon Fox and Logan Wells added short touchdown runs in the second half, and Fouke scored with 25 seconds left in the game.

Junior Jace Clark led the Knights’ potent ground game with 192 yards on 10 carries. Lawson completed 11 of 21 passes for 269 yards and four TDs.

Centerpoint’s defense limited the Panthers to 128 total yards. Fouke punted seven times in the game. The Knights host Horatio next week.
