
AMITY, Ar. — Class 3A’s sixth-ranked Centerpoint scored on its first five possessions to hand Horatio its second setback of the 2021 season, 41-6.
The Knights’ balanced offense was led by senior quarterback Josh Lawson and junior running back Jace Clark.
Lawson completed 10 of 13 passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns. Clark scored three touchdowns, while running for 170 yards on 13 carries. He had a pair of 1-yard plunges and a 60-yard sprint.
Knights score early on long pass play
Centerpoint (5-0) started fast with an 88-yard pass play from Lawson to Kaden Owens. Dillon Fox scored on a 17-yard pass from Lawson to make it 34-0 at halftime.
The Knights piled up 447 yards with 224 coming on the ground. Owens was the leading receiver with four catches for 138 yards. Hayden Rogers was good on five of his six PAT kicks.
Top-ranked Prescott will be the Knights next challenge in Prescott. The Curley Wolves routed Fouke Friday night, 56-0.
