Jace Clark leads Knights past Jessieville, 40-8

Centerpoint's Jace Clark rushed for 161 yards on 24 carries, scoring four touchdowns. Clark has 1007 yards and 16 TD this season in six games.

 

 

GREENWOOD, Ar.– Centerpoint climbed to 6-0 Friday night after senior Jace Clark surpassed 1,000 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead the Knights past Jessieville, 40-8.

Clark entered the contest with 846 yards and 12 TDs. He rushed for 161 yards, and contributed on defense with a sack and several tackles.

“Tlis team is not as talented as the last two Centerpoint teams,” said Clark. “We play hard and execute. Glen Rose is really good, and we close with Bismarck.”

Clark scores four touchdowns

Clark used his elusive running style to score on short runs to make it 12-0. Early in the second quarter Ayden Johnston raced in from 20 yards to make it, 20-0.

The Lions (2-5, 1-3) marched 70 yards down the field, where a fumble at the Knights’ 1 rolled into the end zone and was recovered by Centerpoint.

Junior Broc Mayr completed a long pass to Zach Speers for six points. Mayr added the two-pointer to make it 28-8.

Clark’s fourth TD scored 7:38 left in the third quarter. Sophomore Beau McGough scored the game’s final points with 5:18 left.

The Knigts host Paris next Friday before going to Glen Rose.
