Interstate 30 East of Hope to receive work this year. This according to the Arkansas Highway Transportation Department.
Interstate 30 East of Hope will receive construction work to rehabilitate the interstate between Emmet, and the Gurdon Rest Area.
According to the department officials, this will require lane closures. Weather permitting, one lane of I-30 eastbound will be closed beginning west of the State Highway 299 overpass. This will continue to the east. This will reduce traffic to one open lane. The lane closures will begin Monday morning, February 11. The closures will be from midnight to 10:00 a.m. This permits crews to erect safety platforms over I-30. This will be for bridge overpass work.
Officials say lane closures will continue Sunday through Saturday from 8:00 p.m. through 10:00 a.m. each night. Also, crews will continue east with erection of safety platforms. This will be at overpasses between State Highway 299 and State Highway 19. The crews will then return westbound.
This project is to mill and overlay 19.3 miles on I-30. It will be in Hempstead, Nevada and Clark Counties.

The contract was awarded to Redstone Construction Group, Inc. The cost of the project is $39,017,512.83. The project includes shoulder rehabilitation. It also includes bridge rehabilitation work on twelve interstate bridges. Work will also be done on four overpass bridges.
It is estimated the project will be substantially complete in June 2020. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.
