HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — The Hot Springs Police Department says that a man died following a head-on collision on U.S.-270 approaching the Ledger Rock Road intersection.
Police say the conditions at the time of the crash were “clear and dry.”
Police say that 29-year-old Llonson Escobar was driving a 2008 Honda Element westbound on U.S.-270 and was allegedly swerving. The vehicle crossed the double yellow line and struck a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer that was traveling eastbound on U.S.-270. Police identified the driver as a 44-year-old woman from Hot Springs.

Both drivers were transported to CHI St. Vincent, according to police, who say that Escobar later died at the hospital.
Preliminary figures from the highway department show that at least 156 people have been killed as a result of crashes on Arkansas roads to this point in 2022.
