Free throws buried Lady Wildcats

“It really was back and forth,” said winning coach Josh Smith. “El Dorado had a late lead, but our free throw shooting down the stretch was a decisive factor. We’ve had some rough times this season, but we’re going to state.”

Jaylia Reed led the Trojans’ offense with 23 points. Journee Hicks scored 15, and Kalariya McDaniel poured in 14 points.

The Trojans play regular season champion Lake Hamilton next Tuesday at the Wolf Den. The Lady Wolves eliminated Pine Bluff Thursday night in Pearcy, Ark. Lakeside will also advance to the state tournament after beating Texarkana Arkansas high, 54-23.
