PEARCY, Ar. — Arkadelphia drove 65 yards in 47 seconds to score and tie host Lake Hamilton in Monday night’s scrimmage, 28-28. There was no time on the clock when the Badgers kicked the tying PAT.

Play started with each team getting 20 snaps on offense. The Wolves scored first on a 57-yard run by Kendrick Martin. The Badgers answered with a 65-yard touchdown pass, and the first part finished tied, 7-7.

Martin, Caleb Rouse and Crutchmer scored Lake Hamilton’s final three touchdowns when the two teams played a regulation half in two 12-minute quarters.

The Badgers saw their two quarterbacks pass for more than 300 yards. It didn’t help that Lake Hamilton was missing four starters, including two linebackers, a corner, and a wide receiver.

“We threw the ball a lot tonight, just didn’t complete many,” said Lake Hamilton coach Tommy Gilleran. “Our pass defense has got to do a better job of defending and making some plays. We’ve talked about playing better defensively. When we don’t play better defense it’s upsetting, especially when their backup quarterback is in.

“Our kicker (Randy Durand) came out last week. He’s on the soccer team, and he did a good job, and will get better. He’s just learning how to kick it. I also felt the offensive line played well, especially in pass blocking. We did fumble three time, giving up a touchdown on one. I don’t think we’ve fumbled three times the last two seasons. This scrimmage was important because of conditioning.”
