Ashdown High School’s head baseball coach accepted a position as assistant golf coach at Texas High and left Ashdown Baseball.
Chuck Cross will be joining Texas’ head coach, Ryan Hutze. In a statement posted to his Facebook page, Coach Cross thanked his former players and reminisced on his time with Ashdown Baseball. “I am grateful for the players that have worn the purple and gold these last 8 years,” Cross said.
“I always felt like I was a kid again,” Cross shares.
Cross then discussed what he’ll miss about the team, which includes “seeing those cage lights on with kids trying to get better” and “coaching with [his] best friend.” He ends the post with a bittersweet quote: “Things end but memories last forever!”
