Arkansas State Police promotes two corporals to rank of sergeant

The Arkansas State Police announced the promotion of two corporals to the rank of sergeant following the state police’s regular monthly state police commission meeting.

The recommendations came from Colonel Bill Bryant, state police director.

The first promotion was of 47-year-old Phillip Roark of Lawrence County. The 21-year veteran of the department had previously been assigned to highway patrol duties in Jackson County. Roark will now take over as post supervisor at Highway Patrol Division, Troop B.

The second promotion was of 42-year-old Shawn Mason of Lonoke County. The 12-year veteran had previously been assigned to the state police training and recruiting sections, but will now have administrative services division, training section duties. Mason will be the supervisor of the state police driving track.
