Arkansas State Police investigating murder in Brinkley

The Arkansas State Police is investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 25-year-old woman and has left a 26-year-old man in serious condition at a Memphis hospital.

Police suspect that 37-year-old Chadwick Reed may have been involved in the shooting death of Kaleisha McNeil and also wounded Tavious Alexander at a Brinkley residence Thursday evening. Brinkley police contacted the state police after 5:00 p.m. on Dec. 10 when they discovered the crime scene at 13 East Willow Street.

McNeil was pronounced dead at the scene, and her body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory where a manner and cause of death will be confirmed. Alexander was transported to a Memphis hospital and is in serious condition.

Police say through lead development and evidence collection overnight, they were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Reed, who is being charged with murder, aggravated assault, first degree battery, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
