Arkansas State Police say they are investigating the discovery of a body found earlier Saturday alongside U.S.-65 near the Arkansas and Louisiana border.
The agents weren’t able to determine whether the remains were of a man or a woman. The body was i what police called “an extended state of decomposition.” The body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for purposes of identification to determine the manner and cause of death.
Agnets have begun contacting state and local law enforcement agencies in the area to inquire about missing person reports as the investigation continues.
