
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas is reporting 1,337 new probable and confirmed coronavirus cases, the biggest one-day spike since the pandemic began. The state’s total number of cases rose to 104,135. The state’s deaths from the virus rose by 10 to 1,782. The previous largest one-day spike had come on Oct. 15 with 1,278 news cases that day. In a statement Friday, Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson is asking residents to avoid gatherings where groups are not adhering to social distancing and mask wearing. The state’s coronavirus hospitalizations have surged to record highs in recent weeks. They increased by 12 to 624.
